H.E. Chingiz Aitmatov
Writer. According to Unesco, Chingiz Aitmatov is one of the most widely read of contemporary writers. His novels and stories, including "White steamship", "Farewell to Gulsary", "And the days lasts longer than a century" have been published in as many as 150 languages. He is founder of the World Movement of Scientists, Writers and Cultural Workers, the "Issyk-Kul Forum". His work has earned him several International Awards. Currently he is Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kyrghyz Republic in Belgium.
